2 POINTS

More palms, by California-based Italian sculptor Benny Bufano. [Via an ambitious project collapsing]

And a witchy ring that I would actually wear every day. It uses my three favorite materials: lapis, opal (my birthstone!), and gold. [via Erie Basin]

MANGOSTEEN WISHES

Bali mangosteens! The cutest video game fruit of all time. I have to admit I was a little bit skeptical at eating this at first — the inside flesh looks just like garlic cloves! But it has the sweetest, most delicate flavor.

Sweet necklace.

Super super cool Holly Fulton prints at Ermie, who has the best eye for pattern. (That jumpsuit!!)

Bananas jewelry at Erie Basin. That ring. I don’t even like rings!

Speaking of rings that I desperately need to own

Mark McGuire of Emeralds — who released one of the best records of the year — is coming to Portland for few weeks. He is playing Valentine‘s a week from today and I am CRAZY excited!

Nectarine brown butter buckle? Shit.

I’m a convert to olive oil cakes — this one is next on my list.

Summer Evening, Ed Hopper. Exactly right.

GRATITUDE & GOLD

Thank you so much to Jennifer at Ermie for the sweet post she did about Popcorn Plays! Not to get all circle-jerky, but I’m such a huge fan of her site and feel honored to be included!

Because it’s Sunday and my thoughts are scattered, a random assortment of photos including an image of the San Diego bay as seen from the back of my friend’s 40-foot long sailboat. Sadly, the neon green Converse are not mine. I wish. Sailing in February! Still getting used to the idea…

Been drawing more… here, a five-minute sketch.

Joni is slowly turning into a teddy bear / rabbit hybrid. She loses more of her cat-ness every day, it seems. Joni, come back!

Full House’s Rebecca does Michael Kors/Vena Cava fur glam. She looks unsurprisingly incredible. Who else looks this chic delivering heart-to-heart life lessons?

Danny Tanner does… something else entirely. Something that scares me.

Pilfered my mother’s jewelry box for some pieces to incorporate into my closet. In my defense she doesn’t ever wear them and they don’t even see the sunlight, so really I am doing everyone a favor.

Happy Sunday! XO

WHITE LIGHT ITS GONNA DRIVE ME INSANE

A lot of fuss has been made over Aesa’s latest line, Machine de terre, but the Greek myth reference points (Athena in a breastplate! Goddesses in armor! So boring, so cliche) just don’t stand. I see something that predates Greek mythology, something primordial, prelanguage – after all, the line is called ‘machine of the earth’ (I think). It’s precognitive. I see ancient, writhing arthropods & new age healing crystals, organic asymmetry and roughly hewn minerals, fresh from the dirt.

A LOVE FROM OUTER SPACE

i very desperately need to own all of these pieces by jeweler esther k from her andromeda line. if i ever get married, i want to wear 3-4 of these pieces loosely clinking together, draped over a billowing ivory gown. [esther k via oh joy!]
